Discover Olompali’s distinct habitats of grasslands, savanna, riparian, and oak woodlands with former State Parks Interpreter Evan Weissman. Olompali has been a home for humans since time immemorial; join us for a hike where we will traverse Olompali's varied ecosystems and learn why!

Date: Sunday, July 19, 2026

Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Location: Olompali State Historic Park, meet in the parking lot

Adults and children are welcome to attend, and we’ll explore at a fairly slow pace, about 2 miles roundtrip, on gravel and dirt trails, with moderate slope in portions. There are several picnic tables to rest at along the partially-shaded route. Wear layered clothing, walking shoes, bring snacks, sunscreen, and plenty of water. RSVP below, and please indicate if you have any questions or accessibility requests that may support you in this outing.

Cost: There is no charge for the event, but parking is $8. Pay by cash, check, or via smartphone with QR code at the parking lot. No parking fee is charged if you borrow a free State Park pass from your local public library.
